New Class
Racehorse to Riding Horse Ireland Retraining Class - (within the confines of the Show Ring)
Horses will not be ridden by the judges but scored on control and obedience. A score sheet will be completed in respect of all competitors and is available after the class. A prize/rosette will be awarded for the Best Turned Out and Best placed veteran Horse(15yrs +)
Open to Thoroughbred horses who have raced on the track or p2p field - proof of racing must be available with the passport on the day (download from Irishracing.com or Racingpost)
horses must not have won more than 3 classes in either Training or Novice nor won an Open Class under Racehorse to riding horse irealnd rules no won or placed in the first three at a Championship Show such as Dublin Hickstead Wembley nor won a County show class as a Hunter Hack or ridden horse.
Riders to have attained their 15th birthday, proper show turnout . Format:The competitors will NOT be asked to canter or gallop together as a class
The competitors will be asked to walk and trot together on each rein, then they line up before they complete an individual show to include:
Walk trot canter (on the correct leg) on each rein - Gallop and return to a halt which is maintained for 5 seconds
Injuries, blemishes conformation, action are not taken into account in the judging, as this is not a show class, but a ridden class.
Bad manners from either horse and/or rider may result in the competitor being asked to leave the ring.
In the event of a Tie the judges preference will decide the winner. The judges decision is final Eligibility as per Racehorse to Riding Horse Ireland rules -
