Welcome to our Arts and Craft Section.  Our Craft and Cookery Competitions at Clonmel Show are bigger and better than ever this year.  There are 41 classes in total including the welcome return of 8 classes in the adult Craft section.
The Junior Section - under 14 - have 13 classes.  There are many new innovate classes which should prove a challenge for all you cookery and craft experts.

ADULT PAINTING COMPETITION
     
THEME: OPEN

Rules & Conditions

Open to all amateur painters over 18 years of age, working in any painting medium, e.g. Oils, Acrylics, Watercolour, Mixed Media.

All Art Works will be mounted and framed to a reasonable standard with hooks and picture cord for hanging, and not greater than 24” x 18”.  Entrants are limited to three exhibits.

 All works will be exhibited at CLONMEL SHOW on July 3rd 2011, and open to the public after Judging, in the Exhibition Hall at the Show from 1p.m. – 5p.m.

The Judges decision is final.

Written intention to enter the Competition must be made known to Show Secretary at St. Declan’s, Western Road, Clonmel, by June 29th 2011, enclosing Entry Fee of €5 per entry, and advising re size of Exhibit/s.    

Hanging of Paintings will take place at Powerstown Park on SUNDAY 3rd July from 9.30 – 10.30a.m.

All Exhibits to be collected between 5p.m. and 5.30p.m.

PRIZES:  1st €125,  2nd €75,  3rd €50.

The Oldcastle All Ireland Amateur Painting Competition Qualifier.

Rules & Conditions

  1. Paintings must be the sole work of the exhibitor who must have amateur status.
  2. Paintings to depict an Agricultural or Rural setting.
  3. Paintings must measure no more than 26” x 20” not including the frame.
  4. All Paintings must be ready to hang, that is framed and with a hanging cord attached.
  5. The Judges decision will be final.
  6. All entries to be exhibited at owners risk.
  7. All entries to have amateur status as defined by the following.
    1. Not to have had a commercial solo exhibition.
    2. Not to have exhibited in a commercial gallery.
    3. Not to be teaching or have taught art in any form
     8.  These rules should be read in conjunction with the Irish Shows Association Rules.

Entry Fee:  To qualifying Show €3.   To Final €6

PRIZES:  1st  €300   2nd €200   3rd  €100   4th  €50.

FINAL:  OLDCASTLE SHOW   -  SUNDAY 25th SEPTEMBER 2011.
